In the early 1990s, 11-year-old Céleste arrives on the Caribbean island where her father, Terrence, is from. Accompanied by her mother and siblings, she discovers Terrence's childhood home for the first time: an architectural gem located at the foot of a mountain in the heart of the jungle. While her father sets about renovating the house, Céleste develops a fascination for the mountain, which her father reveals to be a volcano, dormant for 300 years. As Terrence gradually loses touch with reality and the secrets of his past resurface, Céleste becomes convinced that the volcano has awakened and that her father is falling under its spell. Céleste is a fantasy film that explores the boundaries between reality and imagination.
